We
almost like this scanner, and considering our opinion
of Visioneer, that's saying a lot. Apparently, Avision is the
actual designer and presumed manufacturer.
"It is the perfect tool for business users who are buried in
paper they need to scan and store quickly." Maybe... but be aware
of the 1 minute warm-up time if the scanner hasn't been used
recently, a drawback not shared by the Canon DR-2080C. To put things
in perspective, the 450 has a functional output tray which the Canon
lacks, and the Canon features a software pop-up 'control panel' that
violates the TWAIN standard, irritates our staff, and seriously reduces
the suitability of the Canon for fully automated TWAIN applications.

Bug:
B&W documents scanned in Native mode come through with black &
white reversed. (EZTwain 3.05b28 and above contains a work-around
for this.) Scanning in grayscale using Native mode, the 2nd and subsequent
pages are blank - Workaround: Use memory transfer mode. |
