GenDS Toolkit

Generic Video DataSource (TWAIN driver)

This is a basic TWAIN driver that provides access to any Video For Windows video device. Its main advantage is that it works fairly well in 'No-UI' mode, meaning it can do fully automatic single-frame captures under program control.

There is no charge for using the generic Video DS. Download the zip file here. Open the zip archive and copy the VideoDS.ds file anywhere under the Windows\twain_32 folder. This will immediately give you a new TWAIN device named Video DataSource.
